Healthy Oceans and Seas A Way Forward

"The Governments of Italy and Palau, along with the Sustainable Oceans Alliance and Global Partnerships Forum, hosted a unique forum at the United Nations on February 4th, to highlight the critical issue of Healthy Oceans & Seas.  The event, which was hosted in cooperation with the UN Department of Public Information, brought together world leaders, UN ambassadors, financial institutions, and leading members of the private sector
and civil society.

 

The forum was organized alongside the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals, and served as a catalyst for action, leading up to the July 2014 Pacific Island Summit in Palau, the September 2014 United Nations Conference on Small Island Developing States in Samoa, and the UN Summit on Climate Change.

 

The conversations were crisp and engaging, and ably moderated by the distinguished Chairman of the Global Partnerships Forum.
